Provides professional and courteous response and assistance to all prospects and customers contacting the company for the purpose of conducting business transactions. Serves as the company’s first line representative in responding to telephone, facsimile, email and internet inquiries relative to products and services. Promptly and accurately responds to all requests for pricing, order entry, quotation preparation and authorization to return suspect materials. Generates and enters orders, quotations and credit memos as required. Provides services relative to order tracking or expediting when asked, and promptly notifies supervisors of any and all circumstances surrounding dissatisfied clients. Periodically follows up with clients relative to leads generated via various sources, making cold calls on known or suspected consumers of lubrication systems and equipment in a continuous effort to increase contacts with decision makers. Provides timely feedback to supervisor on all aspects of the business, including knowledge of competitive activities. Represents the company and its stakeholders, including owners, employees and the communities in which BDI and IMCI operates, in a manner consistent with the highest level of professionalism, integrity and ethics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promptly responds to prospect and customer needs expressed via orders, requests for quotation, literature, order expediting and other aspects of servicing the customer.
Reviews new orders for accuracy of information, proper pricing and discounting and overall completeness prior to entry into the BDI material management system.
Provides proactive responses in the resolution of all customer issues, assuring – where possible – complete customer satisfaction.
Support achieving weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets in accordance with the BDI annual business plan.
Maintains accuracy of Salesforce.com information by updating warranty, repair, return, complaint, drop ship and customer data in a timely manner.
Promptly provides supervisor with accurate and complete information pertaining to any and all prospect or customer complaints stemming from dissatisfaction with BDI, its products or processes, in order to facilitate accurate root cause analysis and resolution.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Graduate of High School or Technical training equivalent in courses related to math, science, language skills and / or business practice. Education will be combined with a minimum of 3 years experience in customer service related positions which clearly demonstrate utilization of education, continued growth and direct involvement with selling activities related to electro-mechanical devices and / or hydraulic / pneumatic related systems and components in a durable goods manufacturing setting. Prior experience with direct technical selling to the general industrial marketplace is a must.
Other Desirable Skills / Attributes:
Proven skill set and demonstrated ability to repeatedly contact prospects and customer via phone, internet, email and in person for the purpose of supporting creation of bills of materials, proposals, quotations and closing on sales orders.
Basic competency in and understanding of the workings and functionality of industrial machinery and their controls; e.g. machine tools, plastics machinery, conveyors, metalworking equipment, mechanical drives and related systems.
Good technical writing / written communication / verbal presentation skills are necessary.
Knowledge of and familiarity with the fundamentals of U.S. and international technical engineering standards; i.e. SAE, ASTM, BS, MIL, etc.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite 2010 in preparing various office communications.
Understanding of business intelligence software such as Global Soft, Cognos or Qlikview.
Consistently demonstrates solid work ethic and commitment to personal and professional growth as a sales representative.
Must be a good listener and have the ability to effectively deal with people at all levels.
Assists with switchboard / receptionist duties as required.
The potential for occasional overnight domestic travel, as may be or may become required, is understood to be an integral requirement of this assignment.
